We currently manage Guild Hall Youth Theatre (www.guildhallyouththeatre.co.uk) the city’s only dedicated youth theatre company. Guild Hall Youth Theatre (GHYT) has grown exponentially over the past 3 years. From its simple beginning in 2007 with only 24 member 2009 saw over 300

young people take part from across the city. In 2009 the youth theatre was recognised as a central element in the youth arts provision for Preston and with financial help from the Preston Local Children's Trust (PLCTP) GHYT expanded to deliver a

series of workshops in community setting alongside the

central Saturday Theatre Company sessions. All of these opportunities are promoted and supplemented by a series

of in school workshops which allow children and young

people the opportunity to experience drama and theatre making. GHYT has ran many production, these are listed

And we are approaching:

  • “Red Riding Hood And Other Dark Tales” Promenade Production, Avenham Park, Summer 2010

  • Summer School 2010

 

2010 has seen further support provided to GHYT through

the Preston Emotional Health Consortia, a body funded by

the PLCTP. This support will see a further expansion of

youth theatre activity with new sessions delivered in the Ribbleton and Ashton wards of the city.
