NEWS AND EVENTS:

GHYT Boogie on down at Carnival!

Sunday 24th of may saw two amazing events, sun in Preston and Guild Hall Youth Theatres first ever Carnival! We're unsure which was the most exciting. Over 40 members of GHYT turned out to dance the day day away along the packed streets of Preston on what can only be described as a near perfect day. The theme for GHYT was Barbadian independence and the youth theatre carried the colours of the Barbados flag and performed a short street theatre piece at varius stages of the route. An excellent time was had by all and we would like to thank Janelle Goodridge and Garth Gratrix for all their hard work and long hours which they put into making the float and props. Roll on next year!!

Wizard of Oz

GHYT in association with Bluestreak Arts will be performing Wizard of Oz this summer in Avenham Park.

Following the amazing success of Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe in 2008 the latest show promises to be a huge hit with all the family. Taking the lead roles in the show are some of the most promising young performers from the Youth Theatre with the youngest principle being only 13years old. Touring around the park and using the amazing scenery and visuals as the backdrop for the show you are promised to be transported to the magical land of Oz as we journey with Dorothy to find the Wizard. Watch out for the Wiked Witch and her flying monkeys though!

Perfomances will be at 1pm on the 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th of July. Tickets available early June.
